Question, you're from jersey right? If so, how are you headed back. Cause I'm on the bus and it's gonna be a loooooong night.
Yeah. I took path train back from WTC. Just got back to jersey city. Now I have to drive home. Should hopefully be back by 2:15
What did you guys think of Phoebe Bridgers as Julien's opener? I loved her when I saw her. I've been listening to her a lot, and can't wait for her album.
I loved Phoebe, I've been listening to her EP a lot ever since I saw her. Hopefully she releases some more music soon.
I asked her after the show and she said she's in the process of recording and a full album should be out by the end of the year.
Phoebe blew me the fuck away. I haven't really listened to anything other than her EP for the past 2 weeks.
Great news! In hindsight, I wish I had hung around after my show ended to talk to Phoebe and/or Julien. I've heard nothing but how nice and down-to-earth they both are.
Phoebe was exceptional. Such a perfect opener for this tour. I can see it now: her, Many Rooms, and Julien Baker all taking over the world slowly but surely. Ambient sad folk becomes the new "it" genre
I'm okay with more incredibly quiet shows. I was able to hear the bartender in the back make a drink.
Yup, they're both super nice. I only talked to Phoebe for a little bit, but got to talk quite a while with Julien and she's the sweetest person on earth.
I was about to come in here and recommend Phoebe Bridgers to Julien Baker fans, but it looks like that's already taken care of. Pretty much the most perfect opener/headliner combo of all time.
How do those little meet/talks go after the show? I'd feel super awkward talking to them and taking up there time cause I know everyone is there to talk to them. Wish I could of stayed tho but it was a Wednesday and I'd be embarassed to meet an artist I love with my eyes watering and my sinuses fucked up.
She played like a 200 cap bar venue here and once the crowd dispersed afterward there were maybe 50-75 people in the whole building, and she just came back out and jumped down from the stage and was talking to people. I saw her do a record store show earlier in the day, so she remembered my friend and I so it was just super casual, with everyone hanging out and talking. IDK how it went at other venues but there wasn't even really a wait for her to come out, she just started chatting with everyone.
My show was a 525 cap venue. I'm the crowd let out. Too bad I couldn't stay. Cause you know she's gonna play bigger rooms in the near future, which of course is great for her.
I hadn't heard of Phoebe before I saw her and she blew me away. Her baritone guitar was gorgeous. I would love to see Julien Baker open for Now, Now whenever they get back on the road.
Yeah, I think Julien is probably bigger than Now, Now already. As for Phoebe, this was my favorite song she played when I saw her. No recorded version of it yet, though.
That whole audiotree session is amazing. Her performance of Go Home on it might be the best thing she's done.
My brother has been listening to this album a bunch recently, but that "Rejoice" video is actually the first time I heard her. I've been missing out, just listened to "Go Home", amazing.
I have no idea how I've been out of the loop on this girl, but she's amazing. Just discovered the album today and it's exactly what I love about music.
The Audiotree performance of 'Home' is phenomenal, although the NPR version of 'Funeral Pyre' is pretty damn good also! She is something else
