Cam from Sorority Noise talked about her a bit on Washed Up Emo. apparently mewithoutYou is her favorite band? He also predicted that in 5 years she (or Pup or Foxing) might be the "scene->Grammy's" (in the vein of Paul Rudd getting an Oscar soon....).
Oh and if you guys are still after an mp3 of Distant Solar Systems, I have one. My record player records to mp3. It's not the best quality obviously, as it's from vinyl, but if you want a copy as a stop gap then send me a message :) Hope this isn't against the rules! Edit: Requests closed now DSS is available on iTunes.
Distant Solar Systems though... man I forgot this was coming but just hopped on Spotify and randomly saw it. Fucking squealed with joy. Echoing the major DCFC vibes
Now that DSS is on iTunes - no more requests for the mp3 please. Thank you! It definitely is very DCFC.
i love that she's doing more of the solo electric guitar thing than acoustic. she always has great guitar tones.
Man... I really wasn't expecting to cry today. Absolutely gorgeous song, not that I'm surprised. Whenever it gets announced, her follow-up to Sprained Ankle will almost certainly be my most anticipated album of the year, and potentially my most anticipated album ever?
Definitely. Unless Brand New finally get their shit together and release an album. I just wanna shout out from the rooftops how great she is.
I wish she would do a proper full headlining tour this year. I am super stoked for her opening up for all of these great artists, but I want to see her play a full set.
I'm sure once she has two records this will happen. She doesn't have a ton of material out under her solo name.
Anyone, feel free to help me out here. I'm using a shitty one-earbud headphone at work lol. Distant solar systems and all their minor planets Know nothing of our satellites and 747s Vital words and(?) recreate the birth of constellations Dying suns and(?) laughing shotgun powder (?) When I am a sailor and the sky a pitch black ocean I look down at my bleeding heart and wish I were a Vulcan Byzantine structures, churches and all All of our treasure of oil and gold All of the empires, crumbling stone Great architecture (?) in chrome God and I, we correspond with intermittent letters I send postcards from the road, and now and then He answers Echoes northern city states, and all the mighty kingdoms (?) sewing needles on (?) horizon I knew the words were sin before you (?) far to (?) You call yourself a bastard, and I love you like an orphan There's great men of science, (?) Don't impress me, (?) 'Cause I am (?) Screaming in marble(?) microphone stand
This song is beautiful. This and Funeral Pyre have been home runs. This album is gonna consume my life.
