hasn't been any official announcement at least, anything is just talk but that makes sense with the national connection
!!! that's a pretty wild leap after one album, it's all up hill, so sick. I would've guessed like Matador or Barsuk or even Sub Pop if anyone from ""proper"" or ""traditional"" indie was gonna scoop her up That song was great, I wasn't sure if it was one of the ones she debuted already like Funeral Pyre because I tried really hard not to listen to any of those besides once to see how good they were. That was a great song
Go Home, Something, and Everybody Does top 3 songs for me. Also I picked up the blue splatter vinyl variant and a t-shirt when I saw her in Baltimore on her current run of shows. I hadn't realized they did another pressing after the yellow, but they had both available at her merch table.
Wish she had t shirts at my date, I think they were doing like mail order if you got them there though
Ugh, late to the party, but been binge-ing on Julien all weekend. Her Newport Folk set on NPR is AMAZING. I'm really digging the drums on Vessels and Brittle-boned. Would love an album like this, will be interesting to see in which direction she takes her next album. Rejoice gets me everytime and I'll basically be a sobbing mess if I ever get to see it live.
She was only selling one shirt in Baltimore. I don't see it in the online shop, but here's a picture:
Just started listening this weekend. I've had Sprained Ankle on repeat ever since. Good lord. I get choked up every time during "I'm sorry for asking, but please come take me home/"
New song! Julien Baker Idyllic Voice Brings Us Into The Holiday Season with Harrowing New Song, “Decorated Lines” This song has been up on YouTube for a long time as a recording from a house show she played it and I must have played that video hundreds of times, but I never expected to get a good recorded version of it. Her music really is something special.
Same, I've lost count of how many times I've listened to that live version. I remember someone earlier in the thread saying that she may never release it, but I'm so glad she has and it's everything I wanted it to be and more.
the two times i've seen her, she had me emotionally dead. she puts so much of her passion and emotion into every word she sings. its like singing the songs never become mundane to her.
I'm also on the 'Badlands' train. Absolutely love it. Saw her in Melbourne last week and she was great
