I'm certain she played this at her second London show back in May, at the time it was called 'Happy To Be Here'. I'm ecstatic that someone's finally filmed a performance of it!
I downloaded Sprained Ankle on a whim for something to listen to during a recent road trip. Holy shit, it's phenomenal. "Go Home" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
Oh man, I needed this. And I finally figured out how to get tickets for her Providence show! So I'll be seeing Bruce one week, then her the week after. Should be fun.
I've just stumbled upon Julien playing a few Australian festivals in November/December. Oh man, I hope she plays sideshows!!
I can't wait to hear that TA song with Julien, but for now I refuse to listen to it, seeing as I've already heard 2/10 from the album, and this one is the closer. I'll wait.
Just got my tickets to see her in Houston! I was debating since I'm low on money and have a ton of other concerts I want to attend. I had to make a list and see which ones were my priority based on how many times I've seen them, chance of them returning soon, etc. So far Yellowcard and Julien made the list. I just couldn't resist all of the factors: wonderful sad music in the cold (hopefully, it's Houston so you never know), new music venue, fairly decent price, she's going to blow up even more here soon, etc. If it's not cold in Houston I'll be pissed! I need to get in the mood
My friend did quite an interesting interview with Julien a little while back. Thought some of you would be interested: Independent Music News
Ughh. She's playing an ACL 'aftershow' with Frightened Rabbit the day before I get to Austin (Thursday 9/29). I'm going to see her the following day at the festival but she plays at 6 and I'm worried about sound bleed from flying lotus and die antwoord. :/ Plus I have tickets to see her in November here in Houston with Kevin Devine, so idk if I'll end up going or not but I guess I have until Friday to decide... I still kick myself almost daily for not making a point to she her at sxsw this year.
I'm going to be in Australia the same time she is playing shows out there! Hopefully I can get to one!
both julien and phoebe were amazing tonight. the new songs are amazing and go home is the best way to end her shows. many, many tears were shed
"Go Home" honestly might be the saddest song I've ever heard. The echoing piano chords, the lyrics, Julien's voice, the hymn at the end, everything. The face she makes at the end of that Audiotree performance breaks my heart everytime. On a semi-related note, I cannot wait to hear more music from Phoebe Bridgers. She's posted on Instagram pictures from the studio recording her record, hopefully that will come soon. Seeing her and Julien together in April was probably one of the best shows I've ever gone to.
Finally dove in and listened to the full album for the first time today. Spun it four times and watched the Audiotree session. I think I had a new favourite every time I listened
I'm seeing her a week from today and I can't wait. I've been returning to Sprained Ankle a lot in preparation and I was a fool to not put it in my top 5 of last year.
