  1. She should cover "Pretty Pathetic" by The Smoking Popes

I really hope she starts doing one or two covers at most of her shows now. This could kind of become her ~thing~ and I would be so here for it.

I guess you can say that cover went over well.

  4. she probably knew about this tour for a while, the cover mightve been part of the rollout...

Her covering Title Track by Death Cab would complete me.

It's kind of amazing how many noted veteran artists she's already shared the stage with while she's mostly playing 200 cap bar venues as a headliner. I'm so happy for her because she's the nicest person you'll ever meet and deserves it as much as any artist out there.

Most of those 200 have been planned for a while and sold out, if she was to plan shows now they'd all be 500+

Yeah, you might be right. She just announced another small west coast tour in similar 200-250 cap venues yesterday, though. But I'm not entirely sure how far in advance those sort of things are usually in the works for. Could've been a little bit.

the cover was part of an AV Club series where artists are given a list of songs to chose from.

  11. right but tours are often booked months in advance. like Death Cab didnt see that cover and suddenly decide to book Julien for a whole tour. I'm sure it's been something they've been planning for a while.

it's a festival they'll both be at, not a tour.
death cab saw the cover, liked it, and decided to promote it.

I mean not really no. Summerfest basically functions as a lot of separate shows that come together to form one larger festival. This is an individual Death Cab show, and Julien is opening.

    Who's scruffy-lookin'?

If that's the case, it could have been something that happened when DC4Q saw the thing and liked the thing.

Just a heads up for anyone who would want to see it, they're streaming an acoustic set of hers that she did at Primavera Sound tomorrow at 5pm ET. Doesn't seem to be live, but still.

My buddy and I at work just saw Hayley Williams tweet about her TWICE, and he looked at me and said, "Welp, there she goes. She's never coming back. It was nice knowing her."

I just love how hard this community has fallen for her when she's still very small. Always cool when it happens

Shes so very talented and for me very relatable. Growing up queer and question religion are very taboo here in the south, but while I definitely have my issues with the deeply rooted historical problems here, I still think the south is a place that can foster equality and there are plenty of areas where progress is being made (Charlotte comes to mind immediately). I just adore her musical talent as well as her thoughts on social justice and religion and southern issues.

I was at both her London shows at the end of last month and she performed a different new song each night. The first one was tentatively titled 'Break My Heart' and had a very Mike Kinsella-sque guitar line in it, and on the 2nd night she played one called 'Happy to be Here' which from that performance is up there as one of my favourite songs from her.

I'm not sure the song titles - could have been those - but when I saw her at SXSW she played two new songs and they were incredible.

When I saw her she played Funeral Pyre and an unnamed song that she seems to be playing regularly, which could be one of those, but she definitely didn't play two that I hadn't heard before. I'm glad she's adding more.

I got the setlists from both nights and asked her about 'Red Door' (which popped up on Setlist.fm) on the day of her 2nd show, to which she said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Yeah that's 'Break My Heart' I'm not sure what to call it yet, maybe both but have one in parenthesis"
