no problem at all! i really did it for myself, and then thought i'd share with all of you too.

 

I was telling a friend of mine a few weeks ago that I would kill for a cover album/EP from her. It would be so perfect.

 

Good interview. But I am wondering if this is another publication taking their little snide shots at punk/Whatever music. Like when she says she really got into American Idiot and it came out in 4th grade. And the writer says " that's about the time for that record, isn't it?" As if that record should only be enjoyed by people that age. Or maybe he was documenting the release date? Hard to tell.

Julien is a great artist and it's cool to see her wide array of influences detailed.

 

Wow, I never even noticed how snarky that reply came off. I definitely took it to mean like, around the time when it came out, rather than "that's how old you should be to enjoy it," but it can definitely come off both ways. I wonder which way they intended it. I think Julien, based on her response, took it the same way I did.

 

You know, I had the same thought as you, so maybe I am completely off base lol. It's hard to tell in print form. Maybe I am jaded because I've seen that narrative in other places too for absolutely no reason. It's been a long day lol.

 

Not Julien, but since she's been talked about a lot in this thread as well, I revisited Phoebe Bridgers last night and enjoyed her stuff as much as I did when I saw her open for Julien last month. Really looking forward to hearing more from here, her "Killer" EP and the songs she played when I saw her were fantastic.

 

I'm sad Phoebe can't tour with Julien all the time. I loved them together, they were such a perfect fit.

 

I saw Julien last night and was able to hang out with her for a little bit. Super sweet lady. I'm pretty new to her, so I wasn't totally enamoured with the things I heard. That was until I saw her live. God damn. That was such a perfect and powerful performance. I'm converted.

 

A new one to add to the list of covers she needs to put on a cover album.

Hi, catching up on all the posts here, wanted to clarify this.

This is a studio project Julien participated in in one of the recording studio classes some of our friends took at MTSU. This is academic material, super exclusive, NOT a Julien Baker song.

 

She picks such great songs. The legend grows

 

God I love her song choices. She picks all my favorites.

 

I met her at SXSW this year and she is so nice!
