Pitchfork getting a bit revisionist with her it seems

she wasn't scored very highly (though not low)

 

I took that "last year's breakout" line to mean more as an across the board sentiment rather than their own review of her album. Didn't she get higher scores elsewhere?

That's a good interview though. I love how she goes out of her way to fight against stereotypes people might want to apply to what she identifies as/where she comes from.

 

I was just thinking about how a Julian Baker/Many Rooms tour would make my life.

 

Man, she is blowing up. I love her.

 

I thought some of her lyrics had Christian undertones, interesting. I didn't know for sure.

Oh thanks, I had to see it twice to understand it's NEW ehh! ;p I've seen it being mentioned in the Albums in Stores today, but immediately thought it's the Audiotree Sess that's already up on Spotify.

 

She always sounds sooo good!

 

I really can't think of a better new artist than her. Last time I felt this way was with the hotelier. I really want to see her before she isn't playing intimate shows.

 

That version of Everybody Does in the Spotify Session is amazing.

Also, how long have they been sitting on that lol she mentioned "snowmageddon" which was in what, December/January?

 

I just came across this video from a few months back and had never seen it before, and wow, there's so much emotion in this performance.

 

I had always figured she had some sort of christian upbringing just because at the end of Go Home when she starts playing In Christ Alone. Took me a couple listens to realize that's what it was.

 

Julien Baker covering Jawbreaker. I legit gasped when she sang that first line.

I hope she has a full piano setup at more shows in the future. I'd lose it if I got to see her play Go Home with the piano.

 

Spotify session is great, per usual. Gave it a couple run throughs today. All the songs still hold up to me despite how much I've listened to them. I still love the audio tree session too.

She played Go Home with the full piano setup. This is unbelievable.

 

Shit I hope she'll be back in Europe soon, and somewhere closer to Poland, or playing with somebody that would make my interest just a bit bigger to go long distances up to 1000km ;p
