I lasted til like halfway through Half Waifs set. That new album is gonna be incredible

 

Suddenly realizing how dark the lyrics to "Televangelist" are. That "insect pinned to styrofoam" line just hit me. Holy crap.

 

Just bought a Japanese copy of the album! I'll have Red Door for everyone soon enough hopefully!

Red Door is so damn good. How did this not make the album??

 

The demo reminds me of the song sprained ankle before the riff starts so maybe that's why. Or maybe she couldn't think of a way to beef it up arrangement wise to fit in stylistically with the rest

 

I only started listening to this two days ago and so many lines are stuck hopelessly in my head

Throwback to just under 2 years ago when I saw her perform at a culture and arts center to a room of captivated people. I'm ready for tomorrow to bring on the feels.

 

She has to be the best live act on earth

As people are sharing their old show stories, I got to attend the Sofar Amnesty International secret show in Chicago in September and it still remains the best show I have ever (and probably will ever) attended. About 20 people, in an apartment, request set (we got to see Red Door which was amazing). Some photos below. I also have some video if anyone is interested.

I cried.

I saw Mitski a couple months ago and I'm firmly convinced she's secretly a goddess. Julien, though... I don't even know how to describe her. That might've been the best live musical performance I've ever seen. Totally surreal.

 

I’m not super in love with this record, it just hasn’t really connected with me yet. But I’m stoked to see her Monday. I work at 4 am the next day but I’m ready to be floored.
