Televangelist and Everything to Help You Sleep kill me. My record store held the clear variant for me, picked it up today and man I would’ve hung the insert poster up in a heartbeat if I was still in college. Had a few beers and listened to this tonight, it really is better than Sprained Ankle.
I think Happy to Be Here is having the strongest impact on me at this point. Also, this album is not only great as a late night drinking album, but also an early coffee drinking album. Have to be at work at 5:30 and got up an hour early to make coffee and listen to this. Worth it! I think.
Glad people love Happy to be here because I'd have to pick it as least favourite, gun to my head of course because I still love it.
Only listened through about once, but on 2nd listen, Televangelist hit me hard, and it wasn't even one of my initial favorites. Something about that piano progression.... So damn beautiful.
That two parter really hits me too. So beautifully transitioned, they work so well next to each other.
Okay, after about ten or so listens, my three favorites are “Even,” “Turn Out the Lights,” and “Happy To Be Here.”
huh, yeah, my last 30 days shows my most listened to track was only listened to 11 times... a lot between 9-11 though. It's Feathered Indians by Tyler Childers, which might be my SOTY. Shameless off topic plug.
Gun to my head I would say Everything the Makes You Sleep is my “ least favorite”, which like a mere blip in a near perfect run of songs
I agree that you need to be in a specific mood to listen to this album, but at the same time, I want to know every lyric by the time I see her in two weeks. Shadowboxing and Claws in Your Back are my favs so far.
The amount of hours in the day I spend walking around with, "I know that it's not, but I have to believe that it is," stuck in my head are increasing.
