The last 3 tracks are incredibly strong. Like the album is amazing and then those 3 tracks somehow take it to another level.
Road tripping today. I saved this album for the drive. I hope I'll be able to see the road through the tears in my eyes.
I literally need to stop spending money on shows... I can’t afford this.. but like her album is perfect and I really need to experience her music live, never seen her before!
Second time I've seen her! She was amazing, still holding it down in a 900-cap theater. I brought a friend who had never listened to a second of her music, and he was absolutely blown away (thankfully). Kinda bummed we didn't get "Go Home," but "Red Door" made up for it. Thought about hanging around back and trying to meet her and tell her about my paper, but didn't want to make my friend wait with me and all that. Hopefully next time.
I’ve had an annoyingly busy weekend that hasn’t allowed me to listen to this yet. But I have a bottle of bourbon, a cigar and a back porch waiting for me and this album tonight.
I’m not sure if I could make that call two days after release! I find this album more accessible from the get-go, and it’s obviously a lot more diverse. They both do the job of making me sad well enough haha. I’m more engaged with this right now as it’s new. Sour Breath and Happy To Be Here are stuck playing in my head.
You’d think so, but 10 minutes later you turn on your windshield wipers and you realize that there’s a kind of rain they can’t wash away.
Appointments is my favourite so far. The end just breaks me every time. I haven’t felt this way about a song for a long time.
I'm not feeling this one as much as her last, I dunno if I'm just not in the right mood for it or what. Favorites so far are "Shadowboxing" and "Claws in Your Back"
Coming around on this album now. Not that I didnt like it before but it just hadnt fully hit me. Sour Breath to Everything That Helps You Sleep are my favs. Still not really sure about Even and Hurt Less.
This album is getting better with every listen. As other posters stated above, the ending of Sour Breath is incredible. I very rarely dive into lyrics but I'm going to have to for this album.
Don't walk your dog and listen to this album at the same time. You'll have so many revelations that your dog will start to worry about you.
