Resident Julien Baker dork in here to say that I think Guthrie is breathtaking, lmao. Someone on Twitter said it feels like a perfect encapsulation of the themes in her discography thus far and I agree. She’s just… ugh. My favorite, probably forever.
I’ve been listening to Guthrie ever since it was uploaded to YouTube way back and it’s so good. Excited for the other two to be released!
I've also already heard this song as a bonus for the Japan release, but I'm so glad to get it into my more frequented playlists and that it's gonna have its own cover (btw. very cool artwork), even more excited to get a couple more! Love the track so much, at the same time I do understand why it wouldn't fit the album!
I love how this was announced like 3 weeks before release. Guthrie is a beautiful epilogue to the album and I’m glad it’s finally getting an official release. I’m excited for the new tracks too. My last hope is that we get a guitar version of “Song in E”(Mercy) in the style of the live version with Camille the on violin.
Oh that could be fun too, I'd love to hear a studio version of that, though it was a nice surprise she had actually shifted it to piano.
I saw that too but honestly I’m not sure it’s appropriate to discuss in here unless she makes any sort of comment/post about it.
Well, it's a fantastic song, so that brings my hopes up so much higher! Only I kinda forgot when it's out.
Both of the new songs are cool but Mental Math in particular is pretty sick. She always has the best b-sides. Still think Guthrie is my favorite of the bunch, though.
As mentioned above it is probably best not to discuss unless Julien or someone closely associated with her brings it up.
