I drove 5 hours to see her in Wisconsin tonight and I’m so glad I did. No artist has ever meant more to me.
As Jimmy said, and to get sentimental post-two-shows, Julien is the most important musician to me. Super grateful for her music and for the fortune of meeting so many of you thanks to her. Love y’all.
Also I picked up the zine she’s selling (which I believe is also in her web store) and the introductory essay touches on a lot of the personal/life circumstances that happened during the creation of Little Oblivions. I’d highly recommend it if you’re a fan of her and the album, but heads up that it’s a pretty heavy read.
After attending both shows this is my petition once again for Julien to play Riot Fest 2022 please and thank you
I need to avoid this thread lmao still pressed I got tickets and have to miss it because of harry styles!!
The live band is just a whole different experience in the best way. If you have the chance to go to this tour, do it, you will not regret it. Also it hasn’t been said much but the opener Thao is really great too, the song they play to end their sets is really fun. Dehd, who are on the next leg of the US tour, are also really great too.
Thao vaguely reminds me of Sleater-Kinney. Also cool that the drummer of Macseal is playing drums for her.
If anyone wants two free tickets to the Julian Baker show in Portland that's on a Monday let me know. Or if there's anybody that you know who would want them. I don't even care about the price or making a profit because I can't go due to the Harry styles being rescheduled to the same day so I can't go and I'm out of the money anyway so it doesn't really matter to me. Might try to score tickets for the added date the next day
Julien Baker fronting a full band is incredible and I’d not be upset if she decided post-rock was the direction of her next venture.
This actually does sound amazing. Even though I think this is her weakest album to date, that does not mean in anyway that I think its a weak record.
