I transcribed the lyrics: I only see what I really mean when I start talking you in my sleep Well I can be honest when I think it's a dream I can make promises sober I'll never keep and you can believe me as long as you want There's nothing inside of here but blood and guts I hit the bottom, start pulling up floorboards, whatever I get always needs just a little bit more Catching a ride now to get on the first flight he told me it scares you the way that I was too mine Oh I miss when I was hurting about every little thing So scared of forgetting that I put it down in vein Used to call a promise spirit, no I think heaven lets it ring Want it so bad to be good but there's no such thing If anything is incorrect let me know but the lyrics should be accurate.
that live performance reminded me a little of futures/CTL era jimmy eat world. anyone else? weird comp but something about it
Does anyone know why those lyrics from bloodshot are on the cover? Curious why she chose those particular ones, from what appears to just be a random deep cut, to feature on there
I don’t know specifically why but I do feel those lines serve as a good thesis statement for much of the record
She did a beautiful little in-store session today for UK record stores. I recorded it and will share it here (it was free on YouTube but they privated the video).
IMO Bloodshot is the best song on the record. That bridge with those lyrics feels like the high point of the album. Also that is the song that features little oblivions in the lyrics.
Here is a recording of the (free) virtual in-store livestream. She played Ringside, Favor, Heatwave, and a beautiful solo rendition of Faith Healer. The other two musicians part of this performance are her friends/roommates from a local Nashville band called Slider, if anyone was curious.
The lyric that's hitting me most right now is from the opening of "Repeat": When the drugs wear off will the love kick in? Would you stay out long enough to start again?
Finally here. :) (If anyone can point me in the direction of that Bleachers cover on vinyl, I’ll give you one of my limbs.)
im curious if at some point in the future the star killers will have a critical reevaluation and become a cult band
