Lucy’s tweet from earlier today is very good and (likely) about this album but regardless it’s worth sharing here

It's crazy how this album sounded almost lethargic to me on my first listen, but as the lyrics come together it's starting to sound more and more massive. This isn't even a record to walk to. You really have to sit with it.

After about 5 listens I’m feeling this is probably her best album. It’s more varied to me than TOTL. And the lyrics…of course are phenomenal

Agreed. SA will always be my favorite on a personal level, but this album is an absolute masterpiece.

Turn Out The Lights is still probably my FAVORITE album of hers just cause of how attached I am to it, but this is almost certainly her BEST.

Ziptie reminds me of Lambert as a closer. They're completely different, it's just in the way they both complete these big emotional, existential journeys with this sort of resigned "What now?" at the end. I feel the same exhaustion and melancholy at the end of this record that I felt at the end of Nearer My God.

That’s actually a super good comparison

So glad I held off listening to any advance tracks because holy SHIT this blew me away. She made The Leap and then some. What a record. My eyes bugged out when I saw she’d played everything on it.

    I do not exist.

I’m taking this comment personally as I said my first listen was on a walk during my lunch break, haha!

Don’t worry, I’ve sat with it since.

This is good but I'm not huge into it yet. Going to need more time with it.

That bluesy guitar solo in “Crying Wolf” is really something else. Would love her to explore that more, not sure how folks can think it would fit on TOTL.

Beginning of Heatwave sounds like Souvenir mashed up with the last Jason Isbell album.

I love every single song on this album. I know it is early, but I think I already love every moment of it.
