"I Live Now As a Singer" reminds me of Beth/Rest. I want to be enveloped by this music. This is why I never rip on Pitchfork, even when they write shitty reviews (Japandroids). They introduce me to something this beautiful.
I need to listen more, but I'm kind of bummed that nothing on this gripped me like "Natural Blue" did on first listen. Solid album though.
This is a really beautiful album. Here is my little anecdote about it: The past two nights I've put this on when I've gotten into bed and turned the lights off. I like falling asleep to music, and this album made good sense for that sort of purpose. Well, at some point both last night and the night before, I've looked out my window and noticed deer standing right in my front lawn. I haven't seen deer by my house in months. I always get excited when I see them, because I think they're so gentle, and cute, and graceful. Even better, last night, one of them came up within 3 feet of my window and was looking inside as if it could see me. It's cheesy, but that sort of sign is something I'll remember every time I listen to this, and I'll be a little disappointed if I put it on tonight and don't see deer, haha. TLDR; This album can summon deer.
Anybody who enjoyed this album should check out the new album by Bedouine, I think it would appeal to the same crowd.
