they do it every year and I've wanted to go! so stoked its in LA this year

Saw them live last month and they are as great live as YouTube videos would lead you to believe. This band deserves any success they get.

 

I once enjoyed this band but they now annoy me massively

 

Ok. I'll bite.

Why?

 

They’ve always had this oddball pop vibe that was sort of endearing when they were writing weird indie songs, but as they’ve mainstreamed their sound their idiosyncrasies don’t work anymore. The singers vocals are borderline obnoxious to my ear.

 

So Halloqueen was a lot of fun

Hahaha they were a little sloppier last night than I've seen them before. They sounded better playing Queen songs than their own songs?

 

They don't annoy me, it's just upsetting to see how they've evolved into a band that only writes pop hits and such. Songs like The Stars and Static To The Heart are great and they'll never write something like those ones again. All their songs now are incredibly formulaic.

 

Big agree on this. Maybe it was because they played in denver the nigth before and flew in that day?
