for real though, an anthology Silmarillion series would be dope.

Yes please. If Gandalf is in it, I want McKellen playing him.

I hope Peter Jackson has zero involvement with this. He gave us 3 near-perfect films but followed them up with 3 awful ones and I've spent the last few years pretending the awful ones don't exist and I'd like to just remember him for the 3 near-perfect ones from here on out.

    I do not exist.

Yeah, he should not have a monopoly on what the LOTR universe looks like. Tolkien weaved the rich tapestry - let someone else bring it to life in a fresh way (even if it is building on what preceded it).

Let’s actually scrap all Jackson material (but recast his actors, he nailed that) because as much as I love the movies (legit favorite movies ever) they’re a batardization of the books.

I still can't get on board with this. Viggo Mortenson IS Aragorn. This is going to be tough to swallow.

I think recasting him as a kid growing up in Rivendell will make it much easier than having to adjust to another Fellowship-aged Strider.

Just bring back Viggo. I promise to suspend disbelief.

I honestly just don’t want to see a story about Aragorn all that much. I feel like there’s a huge world out there to explore, and different ages as well. Give us something new.

Give me whatever story will garner the viewership numbers to greenlight a full scale, expensive ass Fall of Gondolin miniseries. Give. Me. Glorfindel.

I still haven’t forgiven Jackson for that one.

Yeah that’s the thing, I 100% understand why they’d go with Aragorn from a logistical standpoint and I’ll still watch it, but it’s not allll that interesting to me. And, as much as I love the trilogy, and I fucking loovvvveeee that trilogy, if I had to complain about anything is that they sort of become Aragorn: The Movie. Which I don’t really mind, but I don’t need more lol. Guess we’ll see! I’m not sure how the budget works but that billion dollar number is insane

Amazon doesn't have the rights to The Silmarillion so sadly I wouldn't get my hopes up for Fall of Gondolin.

Now that Christopher isn't the executor of the rights anymore, it could happen. Hopefully. Let me have this.
