I did the extended edition marathon at the prince Charles cinema in London a few years ago.. unreal experience!!

 

Aragorn is being recast for the Hunt for Gollum. Auditions are being held in New Zealand this week

 

I know Viggo previously said he would only return if the script was any good, I heard a recent report that production decided to pass on him because he was "too old" but I wonder if really the script isn't up to snuff for Viggo. Personally I'm glad he's not going to be involved with this project. I wish I could say the same for Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood, who both look like they're returning. I don't need any more films in this franchise trying to link directly to Jackson's original trilogy.

 

It said they are looking for younger actors so I think it's a safe bet Viggo isn't returning solely because of his age. Aragorn should have a decent amount of screen time, and if they had to digitally de-age Viggo in every shot it would increase the budget even more than it already is so the studio probably said to get someone younger.

Saw Fellowship last night for the 25th anniversary. Such a … reverent time in the theater, I guess. Really lovely.

 

Going to a big nerd convention today so Hannah can meet the Hobbits and get her picture taken with them. Big important day.

 

I remember a long time ago when the exhibit came thru Boston where you could go and see all of the props and stuff from the production - I really wanted to go but I blew it off for some dumb reason and I'm still kicking myself to this day for missing it.
