Have listened to this like 6 times already. Not sure it’s number 1 but it’s def closer to the top of their discography than not
Had a couple long drives the last two days so listened to this thing like 10 times. This pushes them into favorite band territory
Someone here said that this felt like their major label debut, even though I know they've been on Epitaph for a while. But I think that captures it really well. I like 40oz and Million Dollars fine, but this feels major. They expand their sound a lot more and write a more interesting album front to back. I love all 19 minutes.
i know the conversations been done to death but it’s okay to not have a ranking on an album that’s barely been out 24 hours.
Both of the "Well" tracks have these almost like, arena-rock-style choruses that I'm not particularly huge on when it comes to this band but there's so much else here to love about this record that it doesn't really bother me.
I love the Well, Whatever It Was chorus but I agree about the Well, Don’t It Seem… chorus - doesn’t really work for me. Thankfully that song is all about those verses for me anyway.
Couldn’t even get my morning reading in because I decided to just blast this on repeat with my cup of coffee lol
Key lime pie and Frampton live, wish that I would fucking die some artist will never get close to writing a line as good as this.
this is a really strong record, I am a 40 oz. to Fresno enjoyer, but this definitely feels like a more cohesive work to me than that record did. it also makes me want to revisit MDTKM again bc it’s definitely the album it reminded me of most, just with how mellow it is overall, but I liked my one listen of this more than any of the scattered few listens I have given to MDTKM over the years, so even tho I am pretty sure this is just a flat out better record than that one it does make me wonder if I would like it more nowadays. I definitely think the opener and closer are my favorites based off of my first listen, but there wasn’t a miss here at all, although to some extent I do wish there was a little more edge to the album overall.
Only reason MDTKM might be higher than this is cause of “Big Lie” “think I’m still in love with you” and “Wildflowers” but this album is also good
Went to the record store and snagged the last one they had. I usually don’t buy the Joyce manor records since they’re like 20 minutes lol but had to get this one. I love that Greg from menzingers is on the pic in the inner sleeve
