That’s exactly what happens to me. Can’t wait to check in on this forum in 6 months and have this suddenly as my #2
say what you want about where it ranks, but if there's one thing that's certain about this album, it's definitely Out Now
NHA Cody S/T IUTGTTB Million Dollars OATTIWSGT 40 oz To Fresno Top four are in their own bracket for me. I really, really don’t care for 40 oz. Only album of theirs where I just find it okay, other than the odd song. Just never clicked for me.
Checked this out because the release thread wouldn't shut up about it. No regrets. (apart from all the regrets I have of not checking out Joyce Manor sooner) I didn't even check how long the album was before putting it on so I was pretty shocked when it was over and done with within 20 minutes. I'm here for it though. It's so tight that I just want to hit play again immediately. I remember feeling this way about The Brightest Days by Origami Angel. Short albums with zero filler are the future.
This is definitely my favorite of theirs since Never Hungover Again and maybe ever. Which is wild after one day but hey you can listen to this thing three times an hour lol
the album packs a hefty punch played loudly in the car on the way home from work with a weekend ahead of you and the sun low in the sky as it begins to set on another week of work/life doldrums and you’re waiting for some spark of life amidst an endless maelstrom of malaise
I revoke my ranking until further notice. I was in a bad mood earlier I guess I apologize to the Chorus.fm community please forgive me
Second listen is even better. After All You Put Me Through was the only track I wasn't sure about the first time around but it's really, really good. I love this band. I also agree that it feels a little weird listening to this in the dead of winter, lol. Too soon to rank but I have very high initial impressions.
