Most I've liked a JM first listen since Cody. 19 minutes of bangers.

  5. On AbsolutePunk.net, I would have given this the very prestigious score of 8.3 after meticulously giving numerical scores to the vocals, music, production, etc.

  8. I thought it was only the Reader Score and comments that were getting paywalled on the Fork. That's dumb as hell

    Once again agreeing with grimace.

Personally, I think Fresno is their best album

Really solid album. The middle feels a little bit different for them, hearing a little more straight power pop than usual. “Well, Whatever it Was” is an advertisement for how late period Weezer could be good if you strip it of all the embarrassment. Opener and Well Dont it Seem are instant entries into their pantheon for me. Not my fave record of there’s but absolutely a good addition to the catalog.

Loving some of the power pop vibes, especially Falling Into It’s dueling guitar/synth line. Sometimes a riff just fucking riffs!

  18. This will probably knock Fresno out of my top three, but S/T and Cody will always reign supreme for me.

For some reason, 40oz just felt really disconnected to me, especially with a cover and a few old b-sides taking a significant chunk of the tracklist. This feels much more cohesive.

all things considered that was far more ridiculous than the pitchfork scale and when we started standardizing the scores and putting whatever our desired score was in each category people would be in the comments HOW ARE THE LYRICS AN 8
