Always interpreted that verse as juxtaposing the surface level interaction you might have at a party with strangers with the sort of temporary intimacy and honesty that comes with sharing details of your life with strangers you might never see again. Two sides of possible outcomes, but the latter is given less time in the song because it's more of a rare experience. Just my two cents
I can't back this up with a link but I remember an interview where it was mostly a song about meeting people with ridiculous ideas hence the Kanye West line.

Can anyone make sense of that poster? It looks like it says Danforth Music Hall for Toronto but that seems way too big. If so, I'm excited though cause it's a great venue when it's empty-ish and the closest to my home.
From what I can make out it looks like the closest date to me is Detroit which is 500 cap. 1200 is definitely pretty big for them I would say 500-800 is a good size for this tour
they played 750 last year i think in DC, baltimore is 1k, and wavves has a pretty separate draw from joyce
Yeah that's true. I saw JM and Wavves both play 300 caps earlier this year and both didn't sell out until day of so I don't know
i mean east coast also always draws well with this sort of stuff, but they're also a cali band unlike a bunch of the other big buzzy punk bands like this, so i don't know how the middle of the country is with them
