Over Before it Began's melody is endlessly playing in my head. Also no record store by me is carrying the pink variant which is greatly upsetting.
Can't wait to see them next week. Do you remember what songs they played? More importantly, did they play Christmas Card???
THATS WHO I WAS THINKING OF seriously, thank you for this lol. It was bothering me so much trying to think of who it sounded like that I started to read this thread in case anyone made me think of it
i'm pretty sure they've been encoring w/ christmas card and constant headache. i had to duck out 15 min early to catch a train so i missed it.
Anyway, this album is phenomenal. On my first listen earlier this week, I didn't think much of it. Next time I listened it was like a different album. It's jumped right into my top five, at least for the moment.
I'll need more time with this, but I'm definitely not head over heels for it. It's fun and enjoyable, but I lose much interest by the second half
Yep, whenever I listen to a Joyce Manor record I always end up throwing it on a few times in a row. This is no exception.
Not really, there's albums that I stop listening to after 1-2 songs if I don't like them, how is that different from not really liking the latter half of this specific album?
because its just as strong as the first half and if youre already half way in after ten minutes how hard is it to really finish it out i mean really is your attention span that poor
but how much time was left? if im seven songs into a ten track album im gonna finish it out regardless
Are we talking about a first listen? I'd usually finish a first listen but if I remember not liking the last half of an album, or if an album is not the best and I'm giving it another shot, I've turned them off midway through
either way, i guess really its weird to me for this album in particular for someone to lose interest halfway through when its so short and the general consensus even among people who arent head over heels is that its over before it really even begins (not a bad thing necessarily). i just cant fathom losing interest in a 20 minute record where the quality is easily consistent throughout, if not better on the second half
