Here's the original version of Stairs: I knew Barry wrote Stairs when he was 19, but I'd never heard the original before. Hmm, I love the punkier sound this one has, but I kind of like the Cody version more, though.
This album is solid. I wasn't feeling Fake I.D. at first but it grew on me. I didn't listen to Last You Heard of Me until the album because I didn't want to be possibly disappoint, but fuck man. This album might top Never Hungover Again for me. It's incredibly infectious and still maintains that Joyce Manor feel and charisma just more polished and more poppy. Genuinely surprised it turned out so good. It's been a crazy good year for releases! Definitely going to hit up my local record shop and grab a copy of this on vinyl.
Have fun man, merch guy is super nice. Apparently he is friends with Jimmy Eat World's keyboard player
i looked at that. didn't see one from last night. just curious if maybe they started playing more from it now that its out.
They played Fake I.D., Reversing Machine, Stairs, a couple others. I think they played 6 from Cody in total. They played a few from their first demo, which I only knew because they told us, haha. It seemed like it was a good career-spanning setlist.
This was the best show I've been to in years. I've never seen a band who hates playing live so much slay it that hard
Dang pretty good score from them. Though I'm relatively new to the band so idk if they've always liked them or not.
last album (first time reviewed) got a 7.8 so right in the same ballpark, this album has definitely garnered more press attention in general though
Joining in on the "Stairs is the best song on the album" bandwagon. I can't stop listening to it. Loving the album overall, which I expected. Has the awkwardness of that "Make Me Dumb" fade out been touched upon? So...bad.
i don't mind it. i actually think stairs is one of my least favs haha. i definitely think NHA is gonna win out over this but i still love it.. one of my all time fav bands.
