I saw AJJ on the last tour and they were great. Some dude staged dive and they were like 'Don't do that' (they did the same thing last time I saw them, to be expected) and that's fine. Honestly, if you don't want people doing that - say so and people should respect you as a performer and not do it. Right after that they were like 'also can we get the people toward the front to take a couple of steps back - the people in the front are getting squished' and idk how to feel about that...like, I'm not a tough person, I don't think punk has to be 'dangerous' or anything like that...but like idk. Probably gonna get a lot of shit for this lol
punk kids don't know how to respect anyone's space so happy for mannequin pussy on this tour, joyce really books some great inclusive tours
Saw ETID and The Ghost Inside there in 2014 and a very drunk Keith was raving about how wonderful the venue was lol.
Anyways, so many other great tours in Jan/Feb/March already in Chicago and I have no idea where I'll be job-wise, so prob gonna pass on this. Should have went to the Joyce/Hotelier tour.
Seeing them in Chicago in a few weeks and I'm super jazzed to hear anything off Cody. As someone who is still a relatively new JM fan, I don't get why they never play "Heated Swimming Pool." That song is so good.
Going to Grand Rapids on Thursday after all! So pumped - I can't remember the last time I've been to a show where I haven't seen any of the bands playing. EDIT: There are less than 50 tickets to this show. If you're going, buy now, not later.
I was hoping to go to Concord Music Hall but I think I'm going to end up at Taft Theater because of work. I didn't like that place too much when I was there before. Although I was in the theater part not the ballroom.
Any setlists? I'm assuming Joyce will play a similar set that they did in the Fall but hoping for at least Angel In The Snow this time around
I'll be at the Taft show. Saw B&C there last spring and I'm with you I'm not a huge fan of the venue but we'll see. Should be a fun show nonetheless.
The only new songs they played in Dallas were Fake ID, Last You Heard Of You Me, Eighteen, This Song Is A Mess..., and Stairs.
Show was fun! I didn't like Mannequin Pussy's music but I liked their energy/presence. AJJ was cool, though their set felt waaaay longer than Joyce's for some reason (maybe because their songs are longer?). Joyce was super awesome, and I'm glad I finally got to see them. If Toledo wasn't sold out/so far, I would consider going to that show too just to see them.
Do you know roughly what time Joyce Manor went on? I'm going tonight and doors are at 6pm, which seems insanely early for a Friday night.
