I just read an AMA with Barry about this a few days ago. He said that was fiction for the sake of a fun press release basically.

 

A few of these lines feel really low effort

love Joyce Manor, I’m surprised so many of you who dislike MDTKM like this song. (Which I personally think MDTKM is a banger record)

 

ngl this song does feel pretty MDTKM adjacent. revisited that album over the weekend and appreciate it alot more now than i used to.

 

It’s absolutely MDTKM coded. I don’t think that record is bad but I find it inconsistent, which really hurts when an album is only 20 minutes long. (I also probably like this song better than anything on there.)

 

I actually think this fits better with the back half of 40 oz than it does anywhere on MDTKM

 

Has anyone else mentioned that Motion City Soundtrack would do a killer cover of "Gotta Let It Go"? Yes I know Tony drums, but I want to hear Justin sing, some moog on top of it, crisp lead guitars..... the vision is there

How long have they been a three-piece?

 

since prior to 40oz i think. they still play as like a five piece but only three official members

 

They play as a five piece but haven't had an official drummer in awhile

 

Don’t get your hopes too high—depending on how soon you think soon is at least

 

I’m guessing it’ll be out by Coachella at least but that’s still half a year away
