the only conceivably criticism of NHA I can think of it that it's mastered needlessly hot, to the extent I'm sometimes tempted to quiet down my mp3s a touch
Song is dope! I haven’t really listened to this record too much but that will change tonight. I remember it being my least favourite
This band has never missed I think my hottest take though is out of all their albums I go back to self titled the least
a few pages ago i said that i never got into more than one song because it all sounded the same to me. i don't like this new one either.
I can’t imagine thinking S/T and MDTKM are “the same thing” at all, personally, but different strokes and all that
It’s hard to rate Joyce Manors discography cause If you put all the albums together it’s basically the length of one LP
Yeah, for the most part I honestly don’t think their albums sound that alike. I feel like 40 Oz (which I love) is the only one that doesn’t really sound fresh.
I would put money on it not releasing before March next year, hence the single release to tide us over. No way they drop it in October now with only a month and a half rollout. Song is cool, I don’t think they could write a bad one tbh
Yeah they have a UK/EU tour booked in for late Oct but I have a feeling you may be right. Big US tour in the new year to coincide with this makes most sense!
Picking up Gaslight Anthem vibes off this today, along with the already-mentioned Smiths-ness. Keen for whatever comes next.
I think I respect 40oz for Freedom the most cause they pressed the entire album on one side for the vinyl!
I listened to this and MDTKM a lot today while working, and I think this definitely is more my jam now. This album really clicked with me. While MDTKM is by no means bad, it definitely has a couple tracks I don't care so much about (Up the Punx and Gone Tomorrow) Glad I spent time revisiting these two records. This one in particular has impressed me quite a bit after me being sort of lukewarm on it when it dropped
