Well that’s kinda what 40 oz is, to be fair. MDTKM just isn’t good. Cody has a lot of quiet songs too. They’re just better songs than the ones on MDTKM

 

My only real issue w/ MDTKM is Barry's occasional low-energy vocals (IE on the title track), otherwise it's more or less on par with the previous couple to my ears. Plus, no Kanye namedrop to have to forcibly ignore.

 

The Kanye namedrop is not an endorsement, lol

 

yeaaaaaaahhhhh I get it. still no fun to sing along.

 

Shaking my head every time I listen to “Fake ID” to let everyone know I don’t approve of the Kanye mention

 

40 oz has NBTSA, don’t try, gotta let it go, dance with me and a great cover

 

The Kanye lyric is not even the worst lyric in fake id

 

40 oz also has Tony Thaxton on drums working in its favor

 

revisiting 40oz, I do rate the first three songs and "gotta let it go". the rest is all skips sorry, I think "you're not famous anymore" might be the only actually bad joyce manor song.

There's something truly hilarious to me that this band can sustain being a bend while releasing about 20 minutes of music every four years, that's about 5 minutes per year!!!!

 

You’re Not Famous Anymore is definitely my least favorite JM song
