I like it more than Cody and MDTKM but less than the others. Overall I think it's pretty great. Reason to Believe is probably my least favorite on here.

 

For some reason I find it hard to rank their albums. I guess they’re all pretty much on the same level for me?

 

This album kind of sounds like they tried to write songs from each of the last 3 albums, and for that reason it feels a little disjointed?

 

Very surprised to have this album living in my head non stop. Don't Try is easily my favorite, but the whole thing is fun.

 

Yeah this is pretty easily my favorite from them, and I absolutely adore all of their previous releases. Can't stop listening!

really like this album. been lightly spinning their discog for the first time and falling in love with Cody, that album is special. excited to hear everything else

 

This was another miss for me unfortunately.

 

Album is fine, feels kinda lazy. Songs are great, just doesn’t feel cohesive

 

Thought this was an interesting quote from Drew's interview with Barry:
"Well, I don’t really write a record. I just do song by song and then kind of look at what we have. And we actually cut one song that didn’t even make it to recording. It made it to pre-production but it didn’t make the recording. And one song got recorded that we also cut. I actually cut “You’re Not Famous Anymore” for a little while too. We were going to do an eight song record which was kind of psycho. And Brett talked me into putting “You’re Not Famous” back on there."

I think that might kind of speak to why it doesn't feel like an album necessarily.

 

I definitely still like this album. My ranking hasn’t changed, though - it’s probably my second least favorite of theirs.

 

it’s good not great

 

If I were to skip a song it would be the opener. Just kind of a boring cover.

 

It’s interesting though, because NHA is like, the definition of a cohesive, all killer no filler album.

 

For sure. To me this album doesn't flow but I'm not sure it even has time to hit me personally that it doesn't because of how short it is. Agreed that NHA is flawless and top to bottom cohesive, though.

 

Secret Sisters goes hard

 

i think the song that has grown on me the most is secret sisters. the back half of this record is just so much fucking fun.

 

I think this album flows pretty decent. I mean it’s 17 minutes lol.

 

It's very obvious Secret Sisters is a holdover from the NHA days, that's why it's so good.

 

After my fifth listen I’m in love with this! Barry sounds so good on every song.

 

Secret Sisters has become my easy favorite on this. The “I don’t feel the same” part is stuck in my head constantly and is right up there with my all time favorite hooks from this band.

 

As someone who never knew the original song I really like Souvenir. One of my favorite songs on the album lol

 

same, its not a cover to me haha

 

wish i could say the same. its such a dud for me

 

I love that they crammed this onto a single side of the vinyl. Just how my JM should be. lol
