I had a good time with this overall. Some of the jokes did come across as trying too hard to be raunchy, but there were plenty of laugh out loud moments to make up for it. The entire section with Baron Davis (never expected to see him on the big screen!) was fantastic. And the opening bit with the kid getting taken out by the swings had me laughing harder than I have in a theater for some time. The theme of identity was really well done too. There were some really touching and gut punching moments near the end.
Glad she’s getting another shot. “Joy Ride” was fun, just sadly didn’t find a big audience in the theater.
