Jonathan Wilson - Rare Birds (March 2, 2018)

New Jonathan Wilson album is streaming and it’s great. I’m getting some heavy The War on Drugs vibes.

kinda surprised that people here aren't bigger on him. two posts between the last two albums haha. dixie blur is really good, one of my favorites this year so far. feel like @DaydreamNation, @cshadows2887 and @Craig Manning would dig it.

 

Have never heard of this guy but if you like him and think Craig, Chris and I would then I think I have to check him out!

 

He’s the Dawes producer, right?

 

yeah, he's produced for Dawes, Conor Oberst and FJM recently. Also played on the last Roger Waters album and occasionally acts as Dave Gilmour for him live. his last few records are a little more psych-folk, topanga canyon type stuff. the new one is a bit more rootsy/americana and organic.
