This makes me really excited. It would be great if the Johns are back and contributing! The birds and the bee sides and forget and not slow down are some of my favorite albums of all time

Hell yes, this is great news. Forget and Not Slow Down is an undeniable masterpiece. Air For Free on the other hand… I hope the new songs sound nothing like that record haha

air for free is light years better than their dumpster fire record collapsible lung.

You aren’t wrong. It’s funny, I love Matt’s voice. FANSD really is one of my favorite records ever, but something about his voice over those pop songs just rubs me the wrong way. I admire them for wanting to try something different but Collapsible Lung and Air For Free are my two least favorite Relient K records.

Agreed, although there were a handful of decent songs on both. I'm a big fan of Matt T trading vocals with Dave also. Really almost all of the guys had solid voices and that's something that I really enjoyed while seeing them live. Many acts can't backup their harmonies live... those guys had no issues.

my biggest gripe was the lackluster lyrics. matt theissen giving up writing credits to a lot of pop writers just made the whole thing fall flat.

Dave Douglas is an animal. He's part of that trademark Relient-K sound.

Agreed, while I Liked Ethan a lot on the drums, Dave is what I think of when I picture Relient K.
