This felt more like a movie than an album. Like that Pixar score he’s been wanting to do. Fucking awesome.
I’m really digging this so far. Actually liking all the non-singles even more than the singles with a few tracks left, so that’s a very good sign!
I really like how Mah’s Joint has such a long extended outro. Really beautiful way to cap off the album.
Album is amazing, was a bit underwhelming at first, but with repeated listens it's just as good as his debut if not better. His rapping for sure has improved a ton would actually like a full project of him rapping now
So this album is still absolutely fantastic and he’s improved a ton, most notably on the rapping tracks. There are a few production things that are wonky to me, including the offbeat guitar strumming pattern in Cautionary Tales, The Internet being a tad too compressed, the first horn section in Mahs Joint being too quiet or something (can’t put my finger on it) But man, the songwriting on these are something else. He jumps around to so many musical styles so fluidly its extremely impressive. He’s also tapping into an emotional resonance that wasn’t as present in prior albums.
I think the production is damn near perfect, haha. Think the album as a whole is a huge leap in progress for him, and that's comin' from someone who loved the last record too.
Haha yeah, totally agreed. These are nitpicks that change my assessment by like .1 points on a scale of 1-10 The rap tracks are incredible, and the last 5 minutes of Mahs Joint is just...wow Stupid Deep into The Internet is probably my favorite mood swing of the year
Yea this album is near perfect didn't like all of it at first but with repeated listens even the ones I was lukewarm about are becoming favourites. This has some of the best pop songs of the year and it's not even close.
Yeah you hear that chorus once and it’s stuck Life became dangerous The day we all became famous No one cares if you're happy Just as long as you claim it
Haha my friend and I went to a small bar in NYC and requested them to play it, and they did! People were bopping to it so that’s a good sign
I took so many classes with him in college- so awesome to see him this successful. Always was a nice guy.
TODA LAS JEVAS CON CADERA QUE ESTO VA PA BAJO this is now an inside joke with my friends, we scream it at random times
No NYC date, he must be doing Gov Ball again. Had a huge crowd last time, even though it was early in the day.
Just imagine doin' a crazy new instrumental intro as everyone comes on stage and goin' into Let's Begin.
I’m heading to the Jones Beach show, need to get a full set from this dude. What’s the typical time elasped restriction for the radius clause in these contracts? Saw him at Roo which was great but I want a 1.25/1.5 hr set
