I enjoyed the first one a lot and the idea of making this a musical of all things is such a seemingly bold creative choice that I'm pretty intrigued lol
I enjoyed the first one a ton and think the discourse surrounding it is infuriating and it's only an incel movie for people who watched it expecting an incel movie. I also liked the rumor better that she wasn't gonna be Harley Quinn, but whatever
Yeah I mean the movie is muddy due to Todd Phillips not really knowing what he wanted to say and it is a clear rip of The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver, BUT due to the performances and look, I do enjoy the first film for what it is.
The best thing about the last one is that it was a rare case of a director getting access to popular superhero IP and using it as a vehicle for their own ideas and voice. The worst thing? That director was Todd Philips, a generally unpleasant director whose voice I’d be happy to never engage with again. He stumbled into moments here and there that I honestly dug, and adding Lady Gaga (who hopefully feels the way she did in House of Gucci) and music is the closest he can get to me trying another one. However, I just know I’m gonna spend at least half the run time annoyed if I see this so… yeah. No thanks.
I haven't rewatched it since the theater, but I liked the first one. I have revisited the Hildur Guðnadóttir score, which is excellent.
Doesn't seem like a character that makes much sense to bring back but I'll never say no to more Zazie Beetz
Film budgets include actor salaries, right? Wild to think that a third of that movie's budget is being split among three people.
