Its obviously, definitely not going to be a film that everyone can swallow, it being a nazi youth wacky coming of age comedy... that being said I think after a couple of minutes it completely nails down the tone and takes off with it. some really fun performances, especially taika and sam rockwell, who i guess has entered the 'only plays racists???" portion of his character acting career. My friend that went with me to the screening, a practicing Jew, laughed maybe harder than I've ever heard her laugh in a movie through this. I don't want to overhype it, and def need to watch it again but its probably his masterpiece. they don't really make movies like this on this scale.
