    No doubt it’s a bit of sad news, but he is 86, so it’s cool he gets to step away from the franchise on his own terms.

    John Williams is an icon. I'm thankful to have been alive while he was writing music to the movies that matter most in my life. Too many movies now skew toward banal tones and soundtracks to provide atmosphere, but his scores helped tell the damn story.

    See him live, if you can. It is two hours of goosebumps.
