Was there controversy around her in Blonde, or just the dumbass director? Because she was maybe the only good thing about that film
iirc she defended the film--and her being in it despite not being Jewish--after the criticism, but again, I wasn't really paying attention. I think Emma Stone is the only person I know of who apologized for taking a role she shouldn't have, but I'm not 100% certain that's how it went down during the promotion of Aloha
I wasn't aware of the Judaism element, but even then, Monroe was a convert for her husband. I guess I just think the only thing that...very difficult and polarizing film has going for it is the casting of a Cuban woman as America's very white sweetheart. I loved that decision and thought she did excellent with what she had to work with.
I think she said Marilyn’s ghost spoke to her and approved the film to her or some shit? Right? I don’t really care. I think she was one of the best parts of No Time To Die and this would lean into that type of stuff, so I’m all the way the fuck in.
Saw this again with my dad. Totally fucking rules. That overhead scene is insane. I’d love to see a behind the scenes feature on that.
What a movie. Incredible set pieces, great action, cool ass shots. I just love how they never deviate from a guy running around and killing a bunch of people in these movies. You get cool lore and history and get to see the interworking of this society but at the end of the day John wick is killing a bunch of fools. I did not feel the length at all. It flew by. Coolest death was near the beginning where Akira? Was riding that guy up the stairs while stabbing him. Shamier Anderson reminds me of John David Washington. Rip lance Reddick I'm bummed he was barely in this.
