I didn’t get that’s who you meant by saying Joe Burrow was in the movie until that post. 0/10 joke. Sorry.
I thought that when i first saw the trailer, and its been making the rounds for a while, so i thought id play dumb and lean into it. Just like Carson Wentz and Prince Harry have never been seen together. I dunno... less of a joke and more like they really look alike. On the look alike scale, at least a 6/10 and if you think its a 0, i dunno man. Anyway, the real actor had some dope suits and i loved how many there were. Better villians with more personality than in 3, 100%. I dont remember 2 well enough to compare to that.
I didnt know how to spell skarsgard :( id have put an extra A. Skaarsgard... I dont like clowns so i never saw IT, and i avoid looking in the mirror... As visually impressive as this movie was, the sound was insane at my theater. Id say borderline too loud (a lot of blockbusters are at this new place), but from the very first fist punch into the pole, the seats were shaking. Fantastic mixing and a real kick and extra oomph to all the fights
Also i thought the ending was vague. Something about how telegraphed it was that it was upcoming, and the comments to Winston about the gravestone wording, and then his non commital answer of who knows if he's im heaven and hell.. it got me thinking some kind of code happened and he helped John dissapear, but geuninely doesnt know where he went to, nor cares anymore. He's out there trying to find out who he is without killing. John Wick 5 - he's a nobody. Back to killing...
He died, knowing that by doing so in the way he did, would free Cain, restore Winston, and still kill Marquis (I don’t know if that’s spelled right). As they mention earlier in the movie, having someone die for a reasons like that in defiance of the high table makes him a martyr. He went against the table and won. He realized who he was, ultimately, was a loving husband. But he sadly lost his wife. So dying to be with her (if you believe in that) while doing all the good I mentioned above, he can be at peace. He realizes he will always have another battle to fight if he lives. He freely gave his life to do good. It would be so so lame if they bring him back. It would be as stupid as making Rey a Palpatine after TLJ answered that she was a nobody.
I missed the after credit scene so that answers my earlier complaint. I honestly expected that within the run time, and it was mostly why i felt that part of the plot lacked as i thought we were heading to whats implied in the end credit scene as the end of this movie. I also expected any after movie scene to be after the styilized credits, but before the long run ones so i left once they started.
I love how they made Caine NOT a superhero or Daredevil, he made mistakes, was sloppy in spots, and certainly had weaknesses…but he was incredibly efficient when needed in close quarter combat. Was really cool seeing him “snap into it” during his fight scenes
This was good as expected but was weirdly slow in the middle. The top down shot is easily one of the best scenes in the series. Overall I think chapter 3 is still the best by far I also missed the post credit scene because I didn't know about it and I had to pee
I'm down for any spinoffs, prequels, and sequels, as long as Keanu isn't tired of being in them. As much as I'm satisfied with the ending on a story level, I doubt Lionsgate is gonna let Wick stay dead. but give the guy a break, the first three movies took place in, what, two weeks? I think it's vague enough to imply that he could've gone into hiding or something, and someone will be dumb enough to bring him back in 5-10 years. Also I hope Rina does more acting if she wants to pursue that trajectory in her career, but if she sticks to music that's fine too friendly reminder that Keanu is part Asian so that makes him, Donnie Yen, and Hiroyuki Sanada one hell of a trifecta. As much as I love how silly Mark Dacascos was in 3, I really appreciate how 4 had such emotionally resonant Asian characters.
I stick to the old age rule of if a character doesn't die on screen, they ain't dead. We will see how the spinoffs and TV shows go, but the last 2 shows that sprawled into multiple formats (Star Wars / Marvel) eventually suffered diminishing returns. DC will be the next to try, and GOT is going to get another spin off besides house of the dragons, and I don't have high hopes on either based on the products of late. Also is Rina maybe just popular in England/Europe as I don't know any of her music (top songs on spotify) or the name (IE I haven't seen her pop up on festival billing/high profile tours etc). I am not a 'pophead', but I'm also not totally oblivious to what's popular. Somehow I missed hearing her if she's big or big(ish) in the US. Not being rude, just genuinely curious as I went in completely blind to the fact that this was her acting debut. She was good if slightly underutilized but I did miss the end credit scene as I explained.
