Incredible movie. The final hour serves up 3 of the coolest action sequences I've ever seen and I ate that shit up with a stupid grin on my face. The assault on the Osaka Continental sequence was amazing too. Loved watching Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Rina Sawayama tear through the hotel. Love Scott Adkins, but his prosthetic suit was distracting. Action aside, the movie is gorgeous to look at. Just the coolest sets and the cinematography was ace.
I remember leaving the 3rd one feeling kinda burnt out yet somehow this one is longer and I was hootin and hollerin the whole way through
‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ Director Chad Stahelski Breaks Down the Ending That Made the Studio Say, “Are You Insane?” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/m...er-4-ending-chad-stahelski-ending-1235359772/
Nothing really different to add to the conversation, loved the movie, but hated the ending. For a movie that focused so well on environments, lighting, etc. the duel scene looked like such dog shit to me. Really ruined that moment.
I do agree on this; the lighting in the duel scene was absolutely atrocious. Like, at least try to film somewhere where you can get a similar elevation view, to get accurate light, and then just digitally add in the city itself below.
don't get me wrong it was noticeable but considering everything else in the movie I can forgive "not perfect lighting at an old french church they had to use CGI on because you can't film at an old french church at sunrise"
For whatever reason I've always been a stickler for having correct lighting in scenes - I can instantly tell when lighting doesn't match from one camera angle to another, and always notice it when it happens; can't help it, haha
Again, I feel like Stahelski pays so much attention to detail, the Arc scene, the Contenantal, etc. that the ending scene stood out so so much.
