4 is just everything i want out of a movie cranked to 11. sumptuous, languid when it needs to be, which helps its endlessly unfolding and fractaling action sequences uh… stand out even more

 

Why is Caine such a cool character.

 

I think they wrote him that way.

 

from the moment it started with wick punching and laurence fishburne saying wild shit and lighting a triangle on fire i was like “this movie only cares about being as awesome as possible and we should celebrate it”

 

i see

 

that’s how I felt about the initial fight sequence at the Japan hotel

 

I was near a speaker and the hits were so fucking loud. I loved it.

The god damn bow and arrows lol

 

Yeah the punches were super fucking loud. If the entire movie was that loud I’d be deaf right now.

Why was the punching SO LOUD? Made me LOL.

 

I don’t know if those hits were louder, but I was so grateful to have a loud speaker next to me. A dude breathing super heavy a couple rows back and a baby in the back. I welcomed the pounding bass during action scenes.

 

I think it’s more that they were loud and the rest was fairly quiet. The contrast makes it feel even louder.

 

Well this was absolutely incredible

 

The “pull my hand away from the knife that is currently stabbed into the hand” bit was brruuuuttal

 

it's funny, he said "You can pull the knife from your hand, or you can pull your hand from the knife" and my dumb ass initially thought he meant vertically lol

 

Rewatched 2 & 3 yesterday, 2 is the one I’ve seen the least but might be my current favorite, so many good sequences. Knife fight in 3 might still be my favorite scene though, so idk.

seeing this tomorrow afternoon and cannot wait

 

The fact that the blade is the wrong way makes it even worse for me. Would have been bad enough if it was sharp side facing forward.

 

I’ve got such a man crush on Tracker/Shamier Anderson.

And I keep thinking about how much I love that one of the best and most insane action franchises of all time ended this epic with a Barry Lyndon duel.

 

Yea this fuckin ruled

 

The sets in these movies continue to be insane.

 

Yeah that punching sequence at the very beginning was LOUD AF - literally had to plug my ears to keep them from bursting
