I mean, the cliffhanger does have an obvious next moment. He told her, he’d be waiting. He will clearly stop it. After that, could go multiple directions. Anyway, I liked the movie. The baby only made noises during the duel, that I could hear. Parents are trash. Another guy breathed super loudly near me and didn’t have a better place to move to. Luckily, this is mostly a very loud movie. Was kind of distracted in the normal conversation scenes, but not enough to ruin anything. This was good. Around an hour 45 I began to feel the length, but the the whole Paris sequence happened and then the steps. That all felt super fast. The duel was so good. I’m glad John got in one more headshot. All the action was really entertaining. The Osaka stuff was great. I liked that the armor is so widespread so it wasn’t as simple as headshots from afar. You really had to work for kills in that scene. Also, John should have died so many times though haha! Landing on his back in the water club fight, maybe not dead, but his back would be fucked. All the times he got hit by a car. When he got thrown down the steps and his face smashed into a pole. Haha but who cares? I want to see him get back up and kill people. Donnie Yen ruled. What else can I say? He was great. It’s late. I’m sure I’ll have more to say as the days go by. Really glad to see a movie like this in theaters with loud AF speakers.
just saw this, think the first hour is one of the weakest in the franchise but the last hour is one of the best. truly a rollercoaster
Oh boy, I can’t wait to spend some time with Lance Reddick, one of my favorite actors, in what’s now one of his last roles. Luckily the movie is 2.75 hours long so I should get to see him plenty! Now to take a big sip of my ICEE…
The emotional stakes and ending really hit for me, but I do wish we got more (read: any) time with Wick's dog aside from a single shot, felt like they went very light on the dog stuff this time. There's hardly any interaction between Wick and Mr. Nobody's dog. Felt a bit like a missed opportunity to pull it altogether, but it's a minor gripe.
why tho? open to having my mind changed here but after rewatching them all this week I'm pretty sure of it
Haha, no need to change your mind, just crazy to me personally. IMO, the first two are easily the best with 2 being a masterpiece (that hall of mirrors sequence blows my mind to this day). It was all still mostly grounded. I think they maybe went a tad too far with the world and absurdity in the second two, but that’s a small complaint when comparing them to the first two when I still love them and they’re incredible action films. 3 and 4 have a couple bumps whereas I’d say the first two are seamless. 3 probably does have the best sequence with the knife museum, though.
All of these movies are good I just think the best scene in 3 happens early on (the knife fight) so it kinda ends up being ranked last for me
knife fight in 3 is my single favourite moment in this franchise. hell one of my favourites ever probably lmao. that alone puts it up there for me then add on the single-take motorcycle swordfight, the book + neck kill, the horse kill, the whole Continental siege sequence, last fight with Dacascos in the glass house? movie is an absolute embarrassment of glorious insane shit. apart from Morocco dragging a bit I don't really understand what anyone dislikes about it lol compare it to this which up until the top-down game bit and the stairs scene felt kind of... lacking with the action? not bad by any means but I had a real "we've done this all before" feeling up until those bits kicked in. the Berlin club scene especially was soooo long and not particularly interesting
