Also, his last album grew on me, which I never thought would happen.

Same. I actually quite like it now. I only listen to my resequenced version of it though.

feel like he's got this infatuation with the airy effect on his vocals recently and im not that into it

    Sure!

Theme from “The Search for Everything”
    Still Feel Like Your Man
    Helpless
    Love on the Weekend
    Changing
Never on the Day You Leave
    In the Blood
    Moving on and Getting Over
    Emoji of a Wave
    Roll it on Home
    Rosie
You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me

Really think this holds together way better than the actual sequencing.

Man if Carry Me Away had any sort of memorable chorus it would be an amazing little track

Wow, John just played Continuum from front to back for the second set tonight. It was insane!

A friend of mine from work was there for that set and couldn’t believe it, I’m jealous

The person I was with asked me what songs I wanted him to play. I said “anything off Continuum” and it ended up being EVERYTHING off of Continuum. It was unreal.

Anything new in the works? He seems to be releasing songs only when he feels like it now, which seems to be working well for him as New Light and Carry Me Away were two of my favorites from the past few years

Yeah, I was thinking about this the other day. I’d be into some new jams. I’m wondering if the “overcommitting” of 4 songs a month for a year made him lay low on a full blown LP in favor of touring and single song releases

that gives me wishful thinking that when he DOES decide to put a full album out, it'll be because he's all in on every track

It was never “bad,” just felt unfinished. Lots of good songs on there though.

I really like that album, it always just felt like a bonus album so it never bothered me that it wasn't up to his usual standard.

Yeah, the middle of the Paradise Valley album is where it falls apart. "Wildfire" into "Dear Marie" is about as good of a 1-2 punch as he has in his discography, especially because it's uncharacteristically fun. Treat the Katy Perry and Frank Ocean collabs as non-album bonus tracks and throw 1 other upbeat stomper in there and we're having a whole different conversation about it.

I genuinely hate that Frank Ocean track, haha. It just doesn't fit at all and is just not well written.
