Was able to score tickets through the Live Nation presale for Boston. It was one of the more frustrating presales I've done, but at least I'll be there!
lol Los Angeles presale and onsales were obviously snatched up by bots & secondary retailers, so, no $90 Mayer tix for me.

I was already going to Columbus so I will be adding Cuyhoga Falls to the list, as well as catching him with Dead & Co. in June. I can't wait!
Reverb is looking for volunteers for the tour. In exchange for volunteering you get a ticket for the show. You can get all the info here: John Mayer 2017 Volunteer Application
I'm really glad I paid out for expensive tickets in the nosebleeds at United Center just to have a show announced at Tinley Amphitheater which will have cheaper lawn seats. No seriously. I am. Now I get to see John Mayer twice this year (3 times if I end up going to Dead & Company).
The only time I did it where seats were assigned was Yo Gabba Gabba and they were good seats. It honestly depends on your venue. I'd assume if your venue has a lawn section, that's what you'll get, that's how it worked when I volunteered for Dave Matthews. If your venue is fully seated it just depends on what the tour gives them. Usually there's maybe 20 or so volunteers, so if you want to, I'd suggest signing up ASAP.
Thanks for the information. I did something similar to this for Arcade Fire's last tour (three times, lol) and I was on the floor all three times but it was a general admission / standing room only floor for all of the dates. This isn't so that why I was wondering. I assume any venues with lawn you'll get sat there. I'm going to sign myself and my girlfriend up in a few minutes. Thanks again.
It varies per artist. When I volunteered for Guster, I was talking to people about illegal logging and having them fill out postcards to send to their local representative on the issue. At Dave Matthews, I sold reusable water bottles. It really is a great time. You get to keep the volunteer shirts, which are usually an exclusive design you can't buy at merch.
No problem! I've really enjoyed everytime I've volunteered for them. Plus the more you volunteer, the better your chances are of getting picked for more tours.
I really enjoyed it time I did it for Arcade Fire and it was something similar to this, I got a AF Haiti t-shirt too. But this shirts sound like it'll be even better and we both got approved for the Columbus date. I'm pretty pumped about that.
Went to this on Friday in Philly. I know I'm super late, but I just recently got into John Mayer. Never really checked him out besides the hits until I saw he was playing guitar in Dead & Company. Dug into his catalog and it's so damn good. Needless to say I was blown away by the performance the other night.
