Just copped that wave 2 long sleeve. Thing is super cool

 

Anyway, the more the better from this guy. I do hope we get more than 14 songs.

 

I like Wave Two a lot. Waaaay better than the first one.

 

Man I'm tempted to buy that. But I'll be damned if I drop almost $50 for a Gildan shirt.

 

Out of interest, which songs don't you like?

I'm presuming Changing, You're Gonna Live forever In Me, Emoji of a Wave, and Roll It On Home?

 

He really didn't like Wave 1 so it could just be those 4, ha.

I didn't like Wave 1 at all. The first track was alright.

Wave 2 is definitely better, but I still think this is a pretty weak collection of songs though.

I need to listen again.

 

I like wave 2 more than wave 1. "Helpless" is my favorite on first listen but I need to listen to it more.

 

"Helpless" is fantastic, exactly what I want from new John Mayer music.

 

Helpless is the most dead-y song !!

 

These 8 songs have me all kinds of weird. It still feels on Paradise Valley level at it's best.

 

Yeah, and there's no cohesion whatsoever. Really hope if the next drop includes some of the Wave 1/2 songs that he picks a tone.

 

Hopefully these songs are the post-PV pre-dead songs he wrote, and the post-dead jams are still on their way.

 

From what I've read, he definitely wrote most of what we've heard so far back in 2014.

 

Helpless is probably my favorite song right now. Has a wicked Eric Clapton vibe to it!!!

Well balls, John, why did you even bother with the waves?

 

Bummed we've already heard the closing track. Especially since it's not very good, in my opinion. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Still, looking forward to the rest, and so glad I'll be seeing him next month (the night after seeing Andrew McMahon for the 25th time. Solid weekend.)

 

Yea there's pretty much no incentive to be excited for this.

Damn, what a shame. One of the comments said it best:

Initial Promise: "Too many songs to fit on one album / 4 Songs a month, every month" -> Becomes: "3 Waves / Album will contain 14 songs" -> Ends up being: "Industry standard 12 track album"

 

I want to start the search for everything else he recorded.
