It really is. You should give it another shot. I wasn't big on it the first time I heard it, and it took another listen or 2 before it really clicked with me.

i just want to let everyone know that i'm making dinner with Futures in the background

 

Really late to make dinner, wow, haha.

 

i got distracted and only now noticed it was 11

i knew i shouldve made something before work but that would've required me getting up earlier than i'd like

 

Must be a pretty fancy meal if it's Futures worthy (it's a good hour long album). Haha

 

rice and beans, per brazilian-family norm. then i'm grabbing some chicken my dad brought home in the fridge, some green beans, and boiling an egg.

that's as fancy as it gets for someone who is still learning how to cook, haha

 

You all were busy in this thread today.

I feel compelled to assert my love for Saltines. They're one of my favorite snacks, right alongside pretzels and chips. So in my world, comparing something to Saltines is a major compliment.


On a more relevant note, I'm really glad I finally checked Clarity out today. I think I'm going to put BA on before bed and then return to Clarity for round 2 tomorrow morning.

 

always weird to me when people say they dont like jims voice. hes one of my favorite singers, and i can get it with a lot of them (geoff rickly, christian holden, etc) but jims so damn good

 

the wobble put me off Jim for a while but his more belty stuff is sooo good.

 

For health reasons, I'm having to learn to cook right now too. It's hard. Haha

I didn't like it at first, but now I love it. Maybe not a favorite vocalist, but he's good.

 

I can't say I'd rank Jim's voice among my favorites but I certainly think he is a talented vocalist who knows how to work his voice in a way that best suits the song. He doesn't typically sing with a lot of flair but he is damn good at what he does.

 

Just like how I can't tell whether I like Brand New or Jimmy Eat World more, I can't tell if I like Jesse or Jim more vocally. Both singers have influenced the way make music. Tied again it seems.

 

I have never heard anyone mentions a wobble until this thread haha... But I've been listening to this band like since I was a kid so I guess in my head Jim sounds normal and everyone else sounds funny

 

Jim has a better voice than Jesse IMO

I'd easily choose Jesse but BN is my favorite band and JEW isn't even in my top 10 (although I can picture them there soon)


Jesse's performance on TDAG is one of my favorite vocal performances ever

to be fair tho i'd take jim over most people

 

I don't notice any wobble. I think Jim is far better than Jesse.

 

I like Jim more, but I think Jesse can do a lot more with his voice.

 

Most of my preference for Jesse probably just stems from BN being my favorite band. But, I also do think hes a phenomenal vocalist. I still get shivers thinking about some of the improvised stuff he did at the end of You Won't Know when I saw them a couple weeks ago. He has such a wicked falsetto.

 

I'm really surprised you don't like Brand New more

 

I have a playlist on iTunes which acts as a ranking for every band I listen to, and Brand New is at 30. Which honestly does say a lot on how good they can be, because I only really love Daisy, then I just kinda like Deja and TDAG (hate YFW).

Jimmy Eat World however is number 10.
