I'm partial to Bleed American just because it has a top 3 song ever for me (Hear You Me), but I would say Clarity is a very very very close 4th and they're all basically perfect 10s.
My friends and I used to have a game where we would press shuffle on our ipods and then post the 7 next songs onto the chat and then everyone had to pick one song from each person's list to listen to before we move onto the next list. My friend got Crush. It was his first JEW song.
I was more or less just trying to be inflammatory haha. BA is probably my fourth. I tend to underrate that album when I'm not listening to it tho We should do this again. I suggest a weekly feature, Clarity Hour
Crush is a nice shot of punk rock into the album. Really great. For Me This Is Heaven and Just Watch The Fireworks are the best songs on here. So so so great
I stopped doing that game cuz I used Spotify, but I think I could make a mass word document on all my favorite records and then make that my "ipod" with a random number generator. there was a rule where you couldnt pick a song that you have already heard in the past few months. That way, you'd always have something to discover or rediscover
First 7 songs to come up on my shuffle: 1. A Space To Grow - The Dangerous Summer 2. Drive My Car - The Beatles 3. Battle Born - The Killers 4. I'd Like To Die - Anberlin (my favorite B-side from my favorite band- tight) 5. Thought Pool - Vasudeva 6. Sink - Brand New 7. Memory - mouse on the keys Number 8 if none of these appeal to you Moona Festival - Polyenso (the closing track on their newest record)
Really cool Japanese jazzy, instrumental, vaguely post-rocky band. 2 pianos (hence the band name) and a drummer
When the guitars kick in for that song after "Your New Aesthetic," I'm always like "Oh yeah. This song!" That's just a great transition, and it makes me appreciate the song more. Make a thread for this!
Battle Born is not a good place to get into the Killers and is probably the worst of the 7 songs on that list but I like it.
Every time I listen to Clarity out loud at home, my Dad always seems to arrive home during Ten. He thought it was my favorite song, haha. Very close guess though, Dad.
