Of any album? Oof, I'd have to think about that one... Heart Is Hard to Find is up there. That'd be my answer for JEW for sure. Other than that, Where I Want to Be by TDS, Weave by Foxing, American Idiot by Green Day, State of Grace by Taylor Swift, and Cutting My Fingers Off by Turnover all come to mind.
I've always joked with @Jose that if I ever started a band, I'd cover Your New Aesthetic and I'd guest feature him to do the back and forths with me on the verses. It's such a cool song.
I'll also post mine after work. The first 3 songs on Clarity feel like they lay the concrete for what the album is going to do. You've got the slow textured style of TFG, the poppier rock of Lucky Denver Mint, and the darker punk tinged rock of Your New Aesthetic. All 3 of those styles are touched on throughout the record.
Just screamed along to "Table for Glasses" in my basement. That was fun. Also, currently playing this album louder than I ever have before.
Believe In What You Want's main riff in the verses has always reminded me of a song but to this day I have yet to discover what that song actually is
One of my favorites on the album. Always found it underrated. We're actually getting into my favorite stretch on the album
It goes directly to the second track. If Tautou were placed at the beginning of Sic Transit Gloria, would you still fast forward through that part?
The middle section is my favorite too. I love the instrumentation of it, especially in A Sunday. The chorus is so calm and is one of my favorite moments of Clarity. The electronic experimentation this record has is always a treat.
Sic Transit sounds better with Tautou before it. So does Tautou -> At The Bottom. Now that I think about it, anything does.
This is definitely the most underrated song on there for me. I always forget about it and then when I get to the chorus I am singing along at the top of my lungs.
My boss played Clarity again over the speakers at work today so this was a good timing discussion for me.
Always my favorite day of the work week when my boss breaks out Clarity, Futures, or Chase This Light. I don't think he listens to any of their other records, but he loves those 3
