trust me i know how outdoor shows in the summer in the midwest can go haha i’m just glad it’s far enough out that i can make arrangements
Wife and I’s flight from Denver after Red Rocks to sweet home Chicago got cancelled on Wednesday so we’ve had a few extra days in town. May pull the trigger on the 8/20 Chicago reschedule.
these videos are both really fucking cool and kinda really awkward like everyone keeps hoping someone else will speak up about something so they can get enough content to make a video about it. it's really cool to hear the demos and the parts solo'd though, I'd watch a video of Jim just moving the faders around while the song plays.
Fingers crossed the weather holds out for tomorrow. I'm skipping the venue up the road (BK Paramount) to go slightly further down the road so I can see Thrice open.
I just learned today from my friend that Jimmy was supposed to play here (chicago) the day there was a tornado, Did they offer refunds?
I fully acknowledge this will be an unpopular opinion but after listening through BA again with fresh ears, I would love to hear it tastefully remixed, emphasis on tastefully. The production/mixing sounds like there’s a thin blanket over it, for lack of a better description. Like if they removed the blanket, it would sound crisper and fuller, breathe a little better…anyone else hear this? I think the feel of the original mix could be retained to achieve this.
I have zero issues with the production on that album. it's actually extremely full and polished to my ears. wonder if it's due to your listening device?
No, it isn’t. I’m comparing it to other releases of theirs and again, it feels slightly muffled in comparison. It’s a difficult quality to articulate and I’ll understand if some folks don’t hear it. Unpopular opinion haha
