For those in Chicago what chance do we think we have of the show being cancelled for weather on Thursday? Heavy thunderstorms predicted for afternoon/evening. Would really be a bummer.
That. Was. Incredible. I’ll spoiler tag the rest of my thoughts because I don’t wanna spoil for those seeing this phenomenal tour…. The Clarity opening set with Lucky Denver Mint noise leading to Bleed American was pure chef’s kiss. I got the #1 bucket list song that I’ve never seen them play in the 9 previous shows of theirs I’ve seen… DISINTEGRATION. I was freaking out.
It sucks that I'm not going on Friday with any real Jimmy fans because they will not understand how excited I am for all of this.
Show was great last night! Such cool moments when they launched into Bleed American and everyone was singing along. I cannot believe they opened with "Clarity." I was the only one in my section losing my mind for the opening run of songs. I mean come on: - Clarity - Believe In What You Want - Your New Aesthetic - Lucky Denver Mint And then when they came back out and played "Disintegration"?? Again I was the only one near me just losing my mind. To also break out "Splash Turn Twist" was nuts. If I had any gripe I wish they would've snuck a post-2005 song in there, but if most of the crowd didn't know stuff from Clarity, there's no way they would've know something from Damage lol.
That is an amazing setlist, can't believe they played Disintegration. I'm bummed I won't be able to catch them on this tour.
I was hoping they'd add in something like "Big Casino" but I'm totally happy with what last night's setlist. I vividly remember downloading "Splash Turn Twist" off the Bleed American webpage you'd access from the Bleed American enhanced CD. I lost it when they played it.
i was so confused when they started the set - I turned to my friend who is a jimmy eat world newbie and was like "... this is not bleed american, lol." i was originally bummed thinking robin wasn't on the tour, the extra harmonies and guitar/keys really adds a lot to their live sound. so i really loved the transition from the clarity openers to the full bleed american set. the bigger stage setting, the lights and visuals, robin coming back in. loved how they focused on songs from that time period to get you into the space they were in.
Guy behind me in line for the rest room after the show was complaining about the setlist saying they didn’t know how to put a show together and they should have saved the middle for the end and ended on big casino Show was great, first show at red rocks and they sounded incredible but man that venue is a pain in the ass
I’ve been to a shocking number of album-play shows where the crowd didn’t know the album and complained about it lol
