This will be the second album play tour I go to after seeing the album play as a special one-off. DCFC doing Transatlanticism for the 15th and then JEW doing Bleed American for the 20th at a Lolla aftershow are both still so special to me. Hard to believe that's happened twice in my life. And then I happened to see Transatlanticism on the 20th anniversary, too, so I'm blown away by how small that number of people is who was at the one-off and the 20th date.
Don't disagree. It'll be fun to see what they decide to do for these BA shows...perform it front to back or mix it up? And what other songs end up being played? I'd love if they did something similar to what Relient K did for their "mmhmm" shows where they played the album front to back, then left and came back for an 8-song encore of two songs from each of their other albums.
Not that I'd expect them to do this but this is how the Lolla aftershow where they did the album play went: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/jimmy-eat-world/2021/metro-chicago-il-138f21b5.html
This was peak 2021 summer where you were still supposed to mask inside and I defintely made the decision on the fly that getting covid to be able to enjoy this set singing along - totally worth it.
This a fun set. I'm good with whatever they decide to play, I just want to see a set longer than 15 songs lol. At least they aren't co-headlining this time.
Is this the modern ticket buying experience? I've been sitting her for 4 minutes and its barely moved.
Yeah, it's a fucking hellscape. My favorite message I got yesterday during Noah Kahan presale was "If you encounter an error, call the box office." What box office?!
we got tickets in section 204 like middle of it and spent like $300 with like fees and taxes and ticket insurance
eh my wife wanted seats - I'd been fine with GA haha we always get insurance now because of our toddler haha. you never know what might happen
If we never get a new album, that’d make sense to me. I know people here would have a hard time accepting that, but they’ve had a fantastic and consistent discography where they constantly reinvented themselves. I wouldn’t want them to force anything just to get another one out the gate.
Where you're traveling from also impacts this choice. Pier 17 is much easier to get to from the train stations in Manhattan.
